Banitsa (ruins)

Banitsa (Greek: Καρυαί - Karié, Slavic - Баница) is a former village in Greek Macedonia known as the place where the revolutionary Gotse Delchev was killed by the Turks in 1903. The village was destroyed during Second Balkan War[citation needed] and is now uninhabited and in ruins.
