Baniachong is located at 24.5417° N 91.3333° E . It has 39816 units of house hold and total area 482.25 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Baniachong has a population of 235855. Males constitute are 50.84% of the population, and females 49.16%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 115151. Baniachong has an average literacy rate of 20.8% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
