Bangash

Bangash is a tribe which originated in Pakistan a few hundred years ago. The Bangash tribe mainly live in Kurram Agency which is part of FATA North West Frontier Province. Ibrahimzai, Hangu, Kohat, Peshawar of Sarhad province and Malhoo Attock of Punjab Province are known for Bangash tribe. They are settlers originally from Jalalabad in Afghanistan and have recently settled in regions of Pakistan, India and Iran.

There are also Bangash settled in Khorasan and Mazandaran in Iran.

Bangash are also found in India, especially in Farrukhabad, and in Kaimganj. The Nawab of Farrukhabad was from the Bangash Tribe whose dynasty ruled until 1801 when power was transferred to the British.

The Bangash speak primarily Pashto language but also Urdu,Hindko and English.
