Bangalore International School (BIS) is a co-educational private school in Bangalore, India.
Its mission is to provide an all-rounded education in accordance with an internationally recognised curriculum with an Indian ethos and enable students to fulfill their potential in a culturally rich atmosphere.
Bangalore International School began in May 1969 as an elementary school with 17 students. It was started for the dependants of US employees working in Bangalore. In March 1970, the school moved to a rented premises on Millers Road and was called The American Community School. Later in June 1980 the school was renamed as “Bangalore International School”. In 2001 the school moved into new large and spacious premises on the outskirts of Bangalore close to the Ring road on the Hennur-Bagalur Road.
