Bandaraya is an elevated rapid transit station situated in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The station serves a single line that forms part of a common Ampang Line (formerly known as STAR, and the Ampang and Sri Petaling Lines) route shared by both the Ampang-Sentul Timur line and Sri Petaling-Sentul Timur line. The station was opened on December 16, 1996, as part of the first phase of the STAR system's opening, alongside 13 adjoining stations along the Sultan Ismail-Ampang route.

[edit] Location
The station is situated between the eastern banks of Gombak River and an intersection between Jalan Raja Laut, a major thoroughfare along Gombak River, and Jalan Isfahan. The station is the southernmost Ampang Line station to be located along Gombak River. The station is also within close proximity with several shopping complexes, the present Kuala Lumpur City Hall building, the Bank Negara headquarters, and Little India Precinct.
The station is also located some 140 m from the Bank Negara station, a KTM Komuter commuter station southwest from Bandaraya station. As such, the station was the earliest in the line to be integrated with other railway system and, prior to the opening of PUTRA and remaining phases of the STAR lines, the only station of this kind. Bandaraya is also located close to bus stops along Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Dang Wangi and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
[edit] Design
The station's layout is similar to that of a typical elevated Ampang Line station: The platform level is located on the topmost floor, consisting of two sheltered side platforms along a double tracked line; a single concourse that houses ticketing facilities is located between the ground level and the platform level. In addition, the principal styling of the station is like most other stations in the line, featuring multi-tiered roofs supported by latticed frames, and white plastered walls and pillars. All levels are strictly linked by stairways and escalators.
[edit] Access via RapidKL buses
Bandaraya LRT station is easily accessible via the following RapidKL buses:-
- B101 : Titiwangsa - KL Sentral via Kota Raya
- B111 : Maluri LRT - Chow Kit KL Monorail
