Banda Calypso

Banda Calypso is a forró band from Brazil. It was formed in the late 1990s by Chimbinha and Joelma. According to music fan website Last.fm, Banda Calypso blends Caribbean calypso and "kitschy" Latin sounds.

They tour Brazil, performing before crowds of hundreds and sometimes thousands. According of Wired.com, they promote future concerts by selectively allowing street vendors to copy and sell their CDs royalty free.
