Band of Gerbils (1996) was a video of a night's performance during a special Hamsters tour which was to celebrate the 25th year of Jimi Hendrix's death in 1970. It was recorded onto S-VHS master tapes at The Square Club, Harlow, Essex on the evening of 22nd October 1995 in front of a live audience. The video was released originally to accompany the CD release of The Jimi Hendrix Memorial Concerts: 1995 which was recorded on a different night during the same tour.

It was originally released in 1996 on VHS, then was re-released (along with the rest of The Hamsters' video back catalogue) in 2005 when it was re-edited and re-mastered into the DVD format (MPEG2 with Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo). There are some minor differences between the DVD version and the original VHS release, primarily Slim's introductions and explanations of the history behind the songs about to be played.
