[edit] Bamkin Hello

Hi ...Victuallers 10:36, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Law project? They are very informal. Just click on one of their templates. Go to their main page and just add your name. I was impressed by your pages... they are far from stubs. I would hope that you didn't waste time, but checked your info ... ie learning. cheers Victuallers 11:04, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DYK

Updated DYK query On 22 May 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

[edit] economic tort

Hi bamkin, I think you've put up stuff on Hedley Byrne in the wrong place. Pure economic loss is a part of the law of negligence (and the Misrep Act something altogether different, of course). "Economic tort" is a slightly misleading technical term, as is briefly described there relating to restraint of trade and that kind of thing - unions, etc. Perhaps you could move it up into the negligence section, or page?

on the law page you've added that Human Rights was a non existent discipline in the UK till the HRA. Are you sure? On another side, I tried to make the law page non-bias in national terms, and I'm not sure that added UK specific things is the best thing. Lastly, restitution, and unjust enrichment has been around a while, especially in civil law systems. We've got a lot of our stuff from there. Peter Birks studied in Germany, which is where he got many of his ideas. I'm not a restitution person, but could you double check your comments here? (that nit-picking aside, good on you; perhaps you also could do a bit on the Contract article, which is in need of someone who knows a bit about the UTCCR and UCTA, or that kind of thing; I never got round to editting the section on Terms!) The US Constitution page isn't that good, either - there's no footnotes, little case law, and it became featured back in 2004 when standards were much lower. I reckon it wouldn't be hard to make the UK one better than that, if it isn't already. Just to suggest, I'd say the first thing is make the Sources section into one with subheadings for each source of law; second, delete the "Disputes" section stuff (move Lord Scarman's views into the reform bit), push the "flexibility" discussion into key principles ("flexibility" is one of those silly soundbite words which doesn't mean anything) and have a more general "constitutional structure" discussion at the top in place of "government and parliament". Lastly, the reform section is decent, but it needs expansion and stuff like the Freedom of information Act isn't relevant. There's my two cents! Wikidea 13:50, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Overlinking

I notice that you recently inserted way too many links in Albert Einstein. Perhaps you believe that all keywords should be linked. If so, let me tell you that is not what we do at Wikipedia. Instead we use links to provide a way for readers to explore closely related details.

Please read WP:MOS-L#Overlinking and underlinking: what's the best ratio? for the Wikipedia Manual of Style guideline on overlinking. And here is some specific advice for you:

  • Don’t duplicate a link in the same section. For example there should be only one link to Munich in the “Youth and schooling” section.
  • Don’t add a link just because a word is a keyword. For example language and 1880 are not useful links in this article.
  • Don’t link to a disambiguation page. German, for example, is a disambiguation page. If you feel you must link from this word, pipe to the article you really want (like German language).

Almost all of your links have been removed by one editor or another. So I am sorry to say it was a waste of your time to insert them and a waste of ours to have to remove them. --teb728 07:57, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
