[edit] November 2007

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Template:Girls Aloud. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. ~~ [Jam][talk] 09:21, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to Wikipedia articles about living persons, as you did to Call the Shots. Thank you. Please cite your references to midweek sales from a verifiable source. The information has been retained for the time being, but may be removed later. ~~ [Jam][talk] 23:15, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:Girls Aloud - Can't Speak French Digital.gif

A tag has been placed on Image:Girls Aloud - Can't Speak French Digital.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] March 2008

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Stigmata. Your edits appeared to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Please do not misdirect internal links as you did when you changed an internal link from St. Catherine of Ricci to Christina Ricci. Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thank you. ~~ [Jam][talk] 10:23, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I'd just like to re-iterate the use of the Edit Summary please. It helps to explain to other editors what you are doing, and stops them having to revert edits that they might think have been made in bad faith. ~~ [Jam][talk] 09:01, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Could you please explain this edit? See WP:BLP. Such edits as you made in the link cannot be tolerated, even if you revert them they remain in the article's edit history, and may have been viewed, linked to, or even printed before you got around to reverting it. Consider this a final warning, any evidence of further such edits will lead to my reporting you for vandalism. Corvus cornixtalk 02:52, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Kewl. Thanks for the explanation. Corvus cornixtalk 03:13, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tangled Up Tour by Girls Aloud deletion

Hi! While it's true that I deleted the Tangled Up Tour article on 16 Dec 2007, this was because I was closing the AfD debate for the article. Remember, an AfD is not a vote; it is a debate. The article has been recreated and deleted 8 times since then and I did not delete it any of those times. If you disagreed with the closing back in Dec, you could have taken it to Deletion Review (DRV). DRV is mostly used as a check and balance on admins mistakenly or deliberately closing an AfD against the consensus of the participants. So it's not really for "saving" an article; it's to correct abuses of the system or honest mistakes in the process. You're welcome to try DRV now if you want but I'd be surprised if the effort was successful. I'm afraid I can't just undelete the article as it existed back then. Or rather, I could but I don't see any compelling reason to overturn the AfD. What I recommend, though, is creating an article that is well sourced with verifiable and reliable sources from news agencies/papers/magazines covering the tour. This seems to have been the biggest argument with the article, the lack of good sourcing. This is also one reason why tours generally don't have WP articles until they are underway or over. Unless they are very hotly anticipated, they don't generate much press until they happen.

Sorry to have rambled at you but I hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions about this or anything else on Wikipedia, please leave another message on my talk page. Cheers, Pigman 00:18, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

No problem. I just went and looked at KYLIEX2008, an example you brought up of a similar type of article. As a point of comparison there are several differences. (I'm going from memory here for the Girls Aloud tour article so please excuse any mistakes.) The Kylie tour is an international and global tour; the GA tour is limited to England or, at most, the Island nations. The Kylie article has WP:V and WP:RS for its info except for the direct quote from Ms. Minogue from her official website; the GA tour article didn't have anything like that. Not to put too fine a point on it, Ms Minogue is an international level celebrity; GA are not just yet. This is not to say their tour doesn't deserve an article but it needs more sourcing than just their own website. This is one reason why some editors have objected to the article as "promotional". Wikipedia relies on other sources for its info, otherwise it's original research. (And for the record, I have no bias in favour of Ms Minogue; I know of her but don't listen to her music.) [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Made in the dark na.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Made in the dark na.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NotifyBot (talk) 14:47, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Swinging London Town

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Swinging London Town, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Fléêťflämẽ U-T-C 22:38, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
