I see you have been working on Wikipedia:WikiProject Red Link Recovery/Capitalisation/1. Please note that when you are able to fix a redlink on that page, you should delete the entry for it entirely. Only use the strikethrough notation when you find that the suggested replacement is incorrect. For example, if the suggestion was to replace Ice Cube with Ice cube (not an actual example since both are bluelinks), you would strike that out and put "rapper vs. frozen water". --Metropolitan90 05:19, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

It does not conform to wiki guidelines and it is totally non-productive. all you do is force someone to go through every place youve messed up and revert it. just stop it.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by SnakDev (talk • contribs) .

New users, unregistered users, and users who are not signed in will only see the ISO 8601 dates. This can make reading an article difficult or uncomfortable. ISO 8601 is appropriate for some uses (including dates in references,) but should not be used in the body of an article. Please see Manual of Style dates and numbers #ISO date formats. Sorry for the downtime. References converter is now back up and running. About a week ago the hard drive in my server crashed. Luckily it stayed together long enough to allow me to pull all the data off onto a new hard drive, but I still had to go through the process of installing Linux on the new hard drive, installing all the necessary programs, and loading in all of the old data from the server. I got all of my essential services up within two days (CVS, Apache, Wiki), but I kind of forgot about web scripts, which I finally got around to fixing today. It is not a copyvio. The site you pointed to may have copied it form us, but if you will look at several other movie articles I have written, the layout and the wording are basically the same. I wrote it myself. User:Zoe|(talk) 03:34, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Baloonguy, I noticed that you tagged Image:-Colosseum at night.jpg and Image:Richard Copson.jpg with {{GFDL-presumed}}. The images were uploaded just a week ago. The template says This template is for legacy images and should not be added to images uploaded after 1st Jan 2006. Could you please not the template to images that are uploaded after 1st Jan 2006? [edit] An update on Wikipedia:WikiProject Abandoned Articles

The project has reached the quarter-way point for the work on the list of the oldest 1000 ("abandoned") articles in Wikipedia: 250 articles have been reviewed and updated!

The project now has 21 members. If you're no longer interested, please take your name off the list; you won't get any further messages like this one. On the other hand, if you're still interested, please consider signing up for a(nother) block of 10 articles to work on - if everyone did this, we'd be almost halfway through those 1000 articles!

Finally, please note that project approach has changed slightly - there is now a section for editors to place articles that need to be "adopted", or to adopt articles that need further work. This means that if you find an article in a block of ten that needs more work than you have time for, it has a place to be put.

Outriggr recently designed a script that will cut youf biography assessment time down by about ten fold (what took ten hours now may only take one hour with Outriggr's script). [edit] UncatTemplateBot inserts an unwanted line break in templates

UncatTemplateBot is adding a line break after </noinclude> when it updates a template. This is a problem because some templates are designed to be used inline with other text. The one that caught my attention is Template:AIP FR which your bot updated on 22 May 2007. After that edit, an unwanted line break was displayed in all articles using the template. -- Zyxw 04:44, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Better code for UncatTemplateBot

I've notice that you've been placing the notice at the top of the page and not dating it. I've found it better to place the notice at the bottom of the template provided all the white space is removed. The following should do the trick. This code should remove all white-space at the end of the template and append the code right after the last character. You need to do this because of a bug in AWB.

Replace (singleline checked):

(\S)\s*$

With:

$1<noinclude>
{{Uncategorized template|{{subst:DATE}}}}
</noinclude>

You can even add a another expression like </noinclude>\s*<noinclude> to reduce the amount wikitext your adding to the template. The addition of the date may be useful in the future and I wouldn't leave it out now just to add it back in at some later date. —Dispenser 19:03, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for helping fix links to disambiguation pages. However, I would point you to the first "Rule of Use" on the AWB page: "Check every edit before you save it". Why? Secondly, although the Tag & Assess 2007 drive is now officially closed, you are very welcome to continue tagging and assessing until 31 January 2008. Any articles you tag and assess during this time will be credited fully to your tagging tally for further award purposes.

Thirdly, if you can find the time, it would be great to have your feedback/comments and participation in the recently-set-up Tag & Assess workshop The idea is to see what lessons we can learn from the 2007 drive to make the 2008 one more efficient and enjoyable.
