Is this school encyclopedic at all? Surely a candidate for removal. --Parslad 00:08, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Haha this is hilarious. I propose removal on the grounds of nobby pupils. I mean who puts their time table on the internet? 82.44.239.56 20:41, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
i have put up a tag for this article. sadly, though there doesn't seem to be much info. on the web about my former high school. pictures would be ideal, but the closest i'm going to get to the School is the turning circle right at the end house on Balwearie Road. [edit] The 1997 Fire
The way I read the article it gives the impression that the effects of the fire were relatively short term. (i.e. senior students were back with a few days). It is true that 5th and 6th year students were back within a few days, but I was a 3rd year at the time and was off for almost a fortnight. 1st and 2nd years were off longer. The building itself was not fully repaired for sometime either. We were still using portacabins as classrooms when I moved from the area in July 1997 (5 months later).--Liam Mason 13:28, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
ah from what i heard from an annoymous source, the majority of the Music department was entirely re-built and extended in early 1998, except for the two circular rooms which remained intact, which is not mentioned in the article. also, many classes were using temporary huts, right up until nearly i became a pupil in autumn 1999. [edit] Motto
I believe there is some sort of link between the school and Robert Falcon Scott but, as I can't verify the details, I haven't added them. The line "To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." is inscribed on the memorial to Scott's party at Observation Hill in Antarctica and as a pupil I have a vague recollection that a ship's figurehead on display in the school is from one of Scott's vessels. Possibly further connected with Michael Scott/the Scotts of Balwearie? Can anyone verify or elaborate? Mutt Lunker 00:27, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Apparent school's own site
After I added a link to http://balweariehighschool.org.uk, another user has questioned the validity of this site. The domain is however listed on Scottish Schools Online and Scottish Government, which ought to strongly support its validity. If anyone can shed further light on the status of the site, please go ahead. Mutt Lunker (talk) 01:46, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
