Baltimore and Ohio Railroad 4-4-4 locomotive No. 1 "Lady Baltimore". Photographed leaving St. Louis, Missouri on September 24, 1935 by Otto Perry. Box-like structure on the front pilot shows that the locomotive was under test; a testing engineer was probably behind there, taking notes and recording the values displayed by instrumentation on the cylinders and steam passages.
