The Baltimore Mariners are a new American Indoor Football Association team that began play in 2008. The team was founded when the AIFA expelled the Baltimore Blackbirds for negotiating with another league. The AIFA still holds the lease rights to 1st Mariner Arena, so the Mariners are the league's replacement.
