Baltimore's Marching Ravens

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Baltimore's Marching Ravens is the official Marching Band of the Baltimore Ravens football team. They were founded as the Baltimore Colts' Marching Band on 7 September 1947 and have continuously operated ever since even though the original Colts disbanded in 1950, leaving Baltimore without a team for 2 years and the more-well known Colts team moved to Indianapolis in 1984.[1] After the Ravens came to Baltimore in 1996, the band remained known as the Baltimore Colts' Marching Band for the 1996 and 1997 seasons before adopting their current name at the start of the 1998 season.

Some have pushed for "disbanding" the band, noted on grassroots websites such as www.marchingravens.com
