Baloneros boricuas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It's the name given to professional Puerto Rican soccer players, who have appeared or risen in fame after the creation of the Puerto Rico Islanders in 2003. Most of these players have been playing professionally or at an amateur level before 2003, but since the Islanders brought them together they have gained fame in their native land. What makes them "Baloneros Boricuas" seems to be that almost all of these players have played, at one point in their careers, in the Islanders at different levels.
