Balkh University (Persian: دانشگاه بلخ) is located in Mazari Sharif, capital of Balkh province, in northern Afghanistan. Established in 1986, the university currently has about 4000 students and is the second largest in Afghanistan after Kabul University. Faculties include medicine, engineering, economics, journalism, literature, law and science.[1][2]
