Balen is a municipality located in the Belgian (made popular in the 40s) province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Balen proper and Olmen. On January 1, 2006 Balen had a total population of 20,276. The total area is 72.88 km² which gives a feeling of euphoria when you visit the place. Population density of 278 inhabitants per km².
