Re: Caste and Hinduism/Assessment
Hi Bakaman, Thanks for inviting my feedback on these two areas. Unfortunately, my editing time is limited these days - I haven't even been to the Hinduism article for several days. I've seen so much ridiculous junk on caste here at WP, I wish I could jump in - at some point maybe I will. I've been trying to focus on bringing the Badrinath and Badrinath temple articles up to snuff, since that's a special love of mine, but that's all I can do right now. Good luck. ॐ Priyanath 00:31, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Re:Img Help
With the obligatory IANAL,
1) This picture was not provided by Biographical Directory of the United States Congress. {{PD-USGov-Congress-Bio}} is incorrect.
2) I thought {{PD-USGov}} would work. This is not a work of a federal government. It was pulled from Minnesota Senate. And that is a state government.
3) Fairuse license will not work since he is a living person.
Hope that helps. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 00:48, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Batuo
Thank you for the citation on Batuo.
Faure is a third-party academic source and the source actually says what the citation says it says, which may well be a first for Freedom skies.
I still take exception to the use of the word "patriarch" because of the potential scope for confusion, but since Faure uses the word I shall leave it alone.
Please note Freedom skies' improper citation of Broughton; Huiguang appears nowhere in Broughton.
The current edit makes it possible that Wikipedia readers will be misled that Batuo taught Sengchou and Huiguang martial arts, which was precisely Freedom skies' intent and why he continues to remove my sourced material. I will continue to add this material to the article.
As for horizontal lines, I find it a more effective way of distinguishing messages that indentations.

Actually he was a highly controversial priest in Kerala. In Kerala there is a big dispute between two major Christian Sabhas. Hundreds of news reports are available about him in Malayalam Newspapers(In front page too). News reports in English Newspapers too. Please check this. www.hindu.com www.hindu.com But alas! the article is deleted.I think this type of deletions will question the credibility of Wikipedia's notability test. Some Kerala wikies are not interested in creating articles. Look at this person. He is a Keralite. But he is not at all notable. No news report in Malayalam or In English is available to prove his notability. What made him notable..? I have nominated him For AFD.That is the only reason. Recently I had supported a Kerala Artist S. Jithesh.Because of that reason he suddenly became non-notable. Actually his name appears in everydays newspaper.See the news report from today's (26th nov)- www.hindu.com and www.hindu.com (27th nov) about this cartoonist. THis is a front page article of today's malayalam Newspapers. It was a state government's programme. Things are not going fair in Kerala wikipedia. Rajkumar Kanagasingam
Though the Rajkumar Kanagasingam was posted by me to the wikipedia originally but wrongly as a newbie (and still feel so), it was actually created by Wackymacs[4] and subsequently shaped by others [5], [6], [7], [8] and [9].
After they all have given notability for Rajkumar Kanagasingam only, I started to shape the Rajkumar Kanagasingam.
The Daily News of Sri Lanka [10] is a Sri Lanka's National Newspaper since 1918 and the widest read newspaper in Sri Lanka and overseas.
Rajkumar Kanagasingam has published articles over the years and the following articles [11], [12], [13] and [14] are available online since 2002.
Though the articles have been written by the subject Rajkumar Kanagasingam, the facts he has mentioned in those articles might have well accepted by the populace without any complaint before he published the next article over the years and might have established some credibility within the Editorial circle as well.
I wonder why those articles can't be considered as Reference for Rajkumar Kanagasingam.
The Press Release in Daily News [15] could speak for Rajkumar Kanagasingam's association with leading Sri Lankan and international personalities and adding notability for Rajkumar Kanagasingam.
The US State Department's Office of Weapons Removal and Abatements "Safe Passage" Newsletter carried a news[16] on "Night of A Thousand Dinners" which was organised jointly by Asian-German Sports Exchange Program and PDIP, A Think Tank which was founded by Rajkumar Kanagasingam.
As the PDIP's Secretary-General, his activities in the available publications (on-line) will speak for his achievements.
All of his above attempts are substantial enough for a fair testimony for his notability among Sri Lankans and gives weight of his book German Memories in Asia which is about-to-be-released.
Ezine Articles may be "Vanity Press" but the contents in most of the articles by Rajkumar Kanagasingam are falling in the lines of well-researched and well-documented articles than those of mere Search Engine Optimization (SEO) ones.
After all his Ezine Articles are linking to his Book/Author Info. Page in AGSEP[17], which is an NGO and not to his personal or affiliated sites with ulterior motives of Ad Sense and click-gimmicks. As an author he is trying his fair attempt for his book without any hidden baits.
Some of the linkings might be Link Farms as I am a newbie of mere three months, but you should consider few of the internationally prominent people I have so far created and those have been left out in the wikipedia so far, especially Dr. Gamani Corea and others.
I have spent lot of my time to keep Dominic Jeeva from deletion with rest of my creations Arumaipperumal and Pandara Vannian which are not falling into the Link Farms.
The Internet is introduced after the mid nineties and still most of the news items are not falling into the web-world. By expecting reference for testing a person's notability with on-line reference materials might be some times misleading where the particular persons' references are mostly in off-line media archives.
Internet is mostly weighing a person's prominence based on the Internet availability in English and few other languages and not in all other world or local languages.
I don't have any objections if suitable and appropriate deleting Rajkumar Kanagasingam from wikipedia, but my kind expectation is at least wikipedia should attempt to have a survey among Sri Lankans through its available means whether Rajkumar Kanagasingam is prominent enough or not among Sri Lankans.

Hi
Thanks for your support on Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_India page. One key thing from my POV is that the Aryan migration theory was built no linguistic basis, so it has to be dismantelled on linguistic basis. The authors and Bryant has provided enough details to argue on linguistic ground. Is there any area where OIT has not disqulified liguistic "evidence". If it in not clear, we can work on the wording to make it clear. There is lot of clean-up that needs to be done regarding "mainstream response". I was going to do that next. The reason I have not pushed much for Astronomy, is that the first evedence can be easliy discounted as compass have accuracy range and unless we can demonstrate that very accurate reading was possible, the date range is from 7000 BC to 800 BC for the observation. Mahabharta dating can be used as that is harder for mainstream to challenge. But so far I have been trying to get the more critical elements in first and then clean up the junk and next will be more additions. The reason I am trying to stay away from religious elements is that I don't want them to call it propoganda. thanks. sbhushan
Panchakshari Hiremath
Since no one objected, after closing the AfD, I have moved Dr.Panchakshari Hiremath to Panchakshari Hiremath. Is someone who assists in the invasion of Hyderabad really an Indian freedom fighter ? If so, will you be making sure that the articles on anyone who took part in the invasion of Kashmir contains the phrase Pakistani freedom fighter ? Curiously, Angus McLellan (Talk) 18:20, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks very much. Having said that, I think I'll have a look through the Kashmiri stuff to make sure we don't have "freedom fighters" there. I don't know if you're a cricketing man, but I read in the paper today that Hanumant Singh had died. I'm sure this would be a good time to find material to add to the article. I'll add what I can from the English papers, but there must have been loads of coverage in India. All the best ! Angus McLellan (Talk) 00:08, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Removing project tags
Baka, I noticed you removing History of Pakistan tags. Please do not remove other project tags. It just results in tit-for-tat tag removals. Let us not get into edit-wars. Let us keep NPOV and verifiability checks to the article pages. Talk-page tags don't mean any harm. BTW, your new signature is looking good. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 23:16, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- We don't have to decide whether it makes sense or not. From the start, I have been telling that project tags are not meant to mark territory. They are meant to attract new members and improve the respective article. If the article gets improved by Pakistani editors or Indian editors, it does not matter, in the end it's good anyway. We just need to make sure the article stays within WP:CITE, WP:NOR, WP:RS and WP:NPOV policies. These need not be applied to talk pages. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 23:56, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Rajkumar Kanagasingam
Hallo! Thanks for your kind advice.
I went through the WP:AUTO and made me clear on various conflicting issues.
I noted your other points carefully and like to brief myself for your kind concern.
As I stated already I never thought of entering into wikipedia but it happened its way.
That is the way I received a Peace Award in 1989 from Srichinmoy, the head of the Peace Meditations at the UN Headquarters, New York on his visit to Sri Lanka for my initiative on a Peace Mission around the world, but it never happened for various reasons.
But the Peace Award changed my world view and made me popular in the island by featuring in various media.
As the recipient of the award and my links with the UN Association of Sri Lanka, I involved in indirect politics and peace initiatives for a lasting solution in the Island.
Other than my above peace attempts I did my Business Administration and a graduate-level course on international affairs and started to lecture on Business Administration and Economics.
At times I combined my lecturing and UN Association links for various charitable purposes.
I founded the PDIP, A Think Tank and spent a lot my time, effort and my own money for various awareness programs on landmine and economic issues.
I did a marathon speech on "world economies" for nearly 20 hours in a day and that gave me a chance to be interviewed and featured in a weekly English newspaper and subsequently gave me a chance to be a Business Reporter for that newspaper for some time and to interview some of the top personalities in the island and overseas and eventually made me a columnist on various issues in the Sri Lanka's leading newspaper, Daily News.
I did a speech in India on "Re-building the Indian Economy beyond natural disasters" to raise fund for Gujarat earth quake victims in 2001 and gave me some popularity among Indians by featuring in the Indian media like "THE HINDU" and other.
My speeches on "Changing Role of the US Economy in the Year 2000 and beyond" and "Globalization and Future Role of the Sri Lanka Trade and Industry" are chaired by Dr. James W. Spain, a former US Ambassador for Sri Lanka and the UN and Dr. Gamani Corea, a former Secretary-General of UNCTAD gave some more prominence.
I did many things by some hidden urge which eventually made me popular among the LTTE and the Government circles and helped a lot in the tsunami time in coordinating things between the Government, LTTE and the NGOs on relief assistance towards the tsunami victims.
I have evidence for all what I did and said above in off-line media archives which are written by others and me and appeared in English and the local languages Sinhala and Tamil, but wonder how I could furnish to wikipedia.
Still I don't know whether I am eligible for the popularity which I gained but things works its way and made me to author the book "German Memories in Asia" which is well documented all what I did and said above and more about the world from the pre-historical times.

Hi,
You don't need to ask me before adding DYKs. If you think something is good enough, add it. Also, if something has already appeared on the Main Page and is India-related, it is definitely worth the Portal page. Just remember to archive the older ones correctly.
