[edit] COI edits

From time to time, this article gets conflict of interest edits from Baker Botts employees. I'd encourage such persons to read WP:COI, WP:RS, WP:V and WP:NPOV before attempting to improve the article. I'd also suggest they post significant content changes here for review by neutral editors, rather than directly into the article. Trivial fixes (spelling, formatting) and vandalism repair directly on the article are also welcome. Studerby 18:34, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

I am an employee of Baker Botts. I would like to update the information in this article to show that there are around 730 lawyers, not the 700 indictated in the article. I would also like to list the cities where Baker Botts has offices and the 6 departments that make up the firm. I don't see this as a conflict of interest. Are those additions possible? 204.194.98.34 16:31, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Surely. Write what you think is appropriate on this talk page, and supply reliable sources (for this article, for these purposes, the Baker Botts web site is considered a reliable source, as are standard law directories). If it's appropriately neutral in tone and non-promotional, we'll get it in the main article... The previous version of the material was too much of a "directory of services"; remember that you're writing for an encyclopedia article for a general audience, not a promo item for someone looking for legal services.
