Bakool (Somali: Bakool) is a region (gobolka) in central Somalia. Its capital is Xuddur. It is bordered by Ethiopia and the Somalian regions of Hiiraan, Bay and Gedo. It has an estimated population of 226,000.

Bakool like Gedo, Bay, and most parts of Jubbada Dhexe (Middle Juba) regions used to be part of the old Upper Region which was subdivided in the mid 1980s.
