Bakkali is a family name relatively common in North African and other Mediterranean countries including Cyprus, Greece and Turkey.

Bakkali lineage started a 1000 years ago, when under a relentless persecution Sidi Yakhlef ben Hamza ben Idriss II changed his name to Sidi Yakhlef el Bakkal, and moved from Fes to the Rif mountains, where the berbers tribs welcomed him.

Bakkali descendants belong to Ahle El Nabi house, Bakkali are chourfa descendant of our beloved sidna el Hasan ibn sayidona Ali and lala Fatima.
