Bakewar is located at 26.67° N 79.18° E.[1] It has an average elevation of 142 metres (465 feet).THE VILLAGE IS FAMOUS AS PREMIER EDUCATION CENTRE OF UTTAR PRADESH. THE TOWN IS INDEBTED TO DWIVEDI FAMILY FOR STARTING A SMALL SCHOLL NOW DEVELOPED AS POST GRADUATE COLLEGE," JANTA DEGREE COLLEGE". IMPARTING EDUCATION IN VARIOUS FIELD. As of 2001 India census,[2] Bakewar had a population of 13,053. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bakewar has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 59% of the males and 41% of females literate. 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.The Janta College Bakewar is well known for its quality education and many new departments have introduced recently. This place has historical importance as it is place of BAKASHUR , who was killed by Bhima of Mahabharata during their visit over here. There is place having the Photo of Wife of Bhima.
