Baker's Keyboard Lounge located on 20510 Livernois Street in Detroit, Michigan is the world's oldest operating jazz club,[citation needed] operating since May of 1934.

In May 1934 Chris Baker opened the club as a sandwich restaurant.In 1939 Chris Baker's son, Clarence, took his ownership after Chris had suffered from an affecting stroke.By 1954 the business had rapidly expanded and musicians started to play.By the 1960s and 1970s the club had become more known and more popular after many famous musicians has played there.

In 1996 after owning the club for 57 years since 1939 Clarence Baker sold the club to John Colbert and Juanita Jackson, and they are the present owners.

Many famous musicians especially jazz musicians have played in the club during its history, such as Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane, Oscar Peterson, Fats Waller, Meade Lux, Errol Garner, Art Tatum, Tommy Flanagan, Pat Flowers, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Tommy Flanagan, George Shearing, Cab Calloway, Betty Carter, Gerry Mulligan, Sonny Stitt, Kenny Burrell, Barry Harris, Donald Byrd, Earl Klugh, and Pepper Adams have all performed at the club.
