Baker's Dozen Donuts is a donut store operator in the Canadian province of Ontario.
[edit] Overview
Founded in 1978 by noted commodity sales tycoon James Macintosh as Baker's Dozen Donut Corporation and based in Mississauga, Ontario.
The chain operates 58 stores, mostly in the Toronto, Ontario market area. Expansion came in the late 1980s, but it remains a small scale operation. Stores are chain owned and operated by hired staff. Most are located away from larger rivals, like Tim Hortons.
The store has three slogans:
- Not Just Donuts...
- You Always Get More In A Baker's Dozen!
- I'd eat a dozen donuts, but it appears that Toby's eaten them all!
[edit] Signage
The original sign featured a European-looking Baker with a moustache holding a tray of a dozen donuts in one hand, and the thirteenth or "Baker's Dozen" donut in the other hand.
