Baileya multiratiata Harvey & Gray |
Baileya multiradiata is a species of sun-loving wildflower native to western North America, especially the US desert southwest and northern Mexico. It is an annual or perennial clumping patch of silvery-green foliage which bears many tall, naked stems, each topped with a bright yellow marigoldlike flower. The bloom loses its ray florets early, leaving behind a nodding stalk holding the disc florets where the seeds develop.
