Coordinates: 28°41′N 76°55′E / 28.68, 76.92 Bahadurgarh is a city and a municipal council with 31 ward in Jhajjar district in the state of Haryana, India It is called "Gateway of Haryana" and famous for its delicious 'Pakoudas'.

Bahadurgarh was founded by Rathi Jats and formerly known as Sharafabad. Mughal Emperor Alamgir II (The Sultan of Delhi 1754-1759) gave the town to Bahadur Khan and Tej Khan, two Baluchis of Farrukhannagar. A fort named Bahadurgarh Fort was constructed there by them. Bahadurgarh came into the hands of Sindhia in 1793. After his defeat in 1803 at the hands of the British, Lord Lake conferred Bahadurgarh on a brother of the Nawab of Jhajjar. It was confiscated after the First War of Independence (1857). It became a division of the Rohtak district in 1860.

Bahadurgarh is located at 28.68° N 76.92° E.[1] It has an average elevation of 206 metres (675 feet). Bahadurgarh is the upcoming NCR of New Delhi, capital of INDIA. Bahadurgarh is upcoming like Gurgaon and Faridabad. A must visit place is Fun Town (Asaudha Mor)& various industries like Hindusthan National Glass, Hindware, Somany Tiles, Parle, Prakash Surya, and Seaga India Pvt. Ltd.

As of 2001 India census,[2] Bahadurgarh had a population of 119,839. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Bahadurgarh has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. Bahadurgarh is one of the fastest developing Town in the NCR region. It is located to the west of Delhi near Tikri on the National Highway Number 10. As of 2007, Bahadurgarh is gaining popularity as a residential locale for businessmen and public sector employees working in Delhi. It has four residential secors developed by Haryana Urban Development Authority HUDA. Sector 6 is oldest and most developed of all. Surrounded by lush greenery, it is considered to be the most spacious sector developed in Haryana by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA). It is connected to delhi via road and rail network. The Footwear park at sector 16&17 is an upcoming industrial area.

Private builders are also coming to this town. Omaxe, Times Square & PDM are building a township with mall, hospital, school and socity.

Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it retains its small town charm while being stone's throw from Delhi. It is a peaceful town that is growing very fast.

Bahadurgarh has three engineering colleges with in city boundaries. Best schools here are Bal Bharti School, DPS Bahadurgarh, and S.R. Century Public School.

Delhi Metro is supposed to come in city (4.9km stretch) up to 2011. Electric Rail Service will also be available till 2009. Ongoing KMP Highway Reliance Sez & Yokohama Plant are going to play a vital role in the development of Bahadurgarh.

Bahadurgarh has many Senior Secondary level schools, good ones are: Bal Bharti Public School, St.Thomas School, DPS Bahadurgarh, P.D.M. Public School, S.R. Century Public, Triveni School and Sainik School. All these schools have good infrastructure and teaching faculties. Bahadurgarh is in close proximity with Gurgaon (30 km), IT hub in NCR region. Therefore IT and Management institutes have a good option for their student's placements. PDM College of Engineering and Haryana Institute of Technology are the two engineering colleges and a new one is coming on Jhajjar Road.

Sayyad Baba Ki Majar at Jhajjar Road, Hannuman Mandir at NH-10, Mahaveer Mandir in Main Bazar, Shiv Mandir at Sec.2 and Devi Mata Mandir at Jhajjar Road are some important religious point of Bahadurgarh.

Mr. Rajinder Singh Joon of Congress(I) Party is presently M.L.A here. Mr. Nafe Singh Rathee, Ex-M.L.A is the main opponents & others are Mr. Ramesh Dalal from Haryana Swatantra Party, Mr. Ashok Gupta & Raj Pehlwan from Haryana Janhit Congress(BL) and Mr.Jitender Lathar from BSP. Bahadurgarh is mainly a Jat belt area & now after parisiman changes it will attach with Rohtak Constituency.

Indian Society for Applied Research & Development(ISARD), NCR Research Group, Ashirwad Jan Kalyan Samiti, Saarthi Sewa Sadan & Bharat Vikas Parishad are some Social/Research organizations of city, which are currently active for the upliftment of the socity.
