Bagster is a Sydney based punk rock band that incorporates a two piece horn section (trumpet and trombone) with guitar, bass, and drums.
Bagster has earned a solid reputation as one of the hardest working independent acts in the country, ignoring trends and fast cash grabs, the band has toured Australia constantly for a number of years as both a headline band and support act to international bands touring Australia.
Bagster has released 4 EPs, the most recent of which is a five track EP titled Wellkumn To The Show Tonight. Two of the tracks featured on this release were recorded with popular producer Phil McKellar.
Bagster has received support from the majority of the countries radio stations across their releases. Nova 96.9 in Sydney gave strong play to the track 'Between The Lines' from the Onwards & Upwards EP. 'Skeletons' off the Brutiful EP was picked up by Triple J and selected as a winning track in their prestigious Unearthed competition. Most recently (January 2008)Triple M selected the track 'Wellkumn' from 'Wellkumn To The Show Tonight' as a top 5 finalist track from 300+ entries in a competition to support Bon Jovi. Community stations such as PBS, 4ZZZ, FBI, 2SER, SYN have also supported tracks.
Bagster have supported bands like Pennywise, New Found Glory, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, Billy Talent, Lagwagon, Less Than Jake, Mad Caddies, CKY, Strung Out, The Suicide Machines, Streetlight Manifesto Crowned King, Bodyjar, Kisschasy, The Hot Lies, The Real McKenzies, Guttermouth and many more.
