Bagrami District

Bagrami District is located in the central part of Kabul Province in Afghanistan. It is approximately 30 minutes drive east from the capital city, Kabul. Its has a population of 85,000 people (2002 official UNHCR est.). Pashtuns are the majority in the district, some Tajiks also live there.[1] The district headquarter is the town of Bagrami. The district borders with Kabul to the west, De Sabz to the north, Surobi to the east, and Khaki Jabbar, Musayi and Char Asiab districts to the South.
Bagrami district is currently in the fast-developing phase. The Bagrami Industrial Park, which is part of a majory industry in Afghanistan, is a project in the rebuilding process of the country and is located in here. Bagrami district is a green area with abundant agricultural activities. Many of its residents work in Kabul City because of its close proximity. The Health care and the education are relatively good, and is gradually improving.
