Bagherpara is located at 23.2167° N 89.3500° E . It has 28677 units of house hold and total area 270.94 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Bagherpara has a population of 168938. Males constitute are 51.21% of the population, and females 48.79%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 84303. Bagherpara has an average literacy rate of 34.5% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
