[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Fortress2 lmb.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Fortress2 lmb.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do not worry about the warning. I readded the picture to the article after a vandal accidentally blanked it. So the image is no longer orphaned and is not susceptible to deletion at the moment.ยค~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 22:10, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Andyserkisheavenlysword.jpg

You uploaded Image:Andyserkisheavenlysword.jpg and marked it as being a game screenshot (and therefore falling into one of the blanket categories of fair-use images allowed on Wikipedia). However, it's plainly not a game screenshot, so I've marked it as having no license. The image will be deleted within 7 days if no copyright tag is added indicating why the image is legal to use on Wikipedia. Essentially this means making a fair use claim as outlined at Wikipedia:Non-free content and Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline, with the onus on you to justify why this is really a "fair use" of the image and not just copyright infringement. Yes, this is a pain in the ass to have to do for every image; this is by design - you're really not supposed to just grab pictures off the Internet and add them to Wikipedia except in special circumstances. If you have any questions, please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. DopefishJustin 08:37, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
