[edit] "Brother Cartan"
The Romanian word "Badea" certainly does not equal the English word brother. The Romanian word for brother is frate (compare to Latin "frater") while the word "badea" is just a common way of addressing a certain social category of men (and men only. 86.120.210.195 (talk) 21:51, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sure it's not an exact translation (as can be deduced from the word "roughly"), but the word is closes to the meaning. It is certainly translated as such (see for instance here, here, here, and here). As for the "social category of men", I have never encountered any mention of such a group in my life. The one part you're right about is that the word is used for men and men only - incidentally, so is "brother"... Dahn (talk) 23:05, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
