Baddi is an industrial town and a nagar panchayat in the Southwestern Solan District of Himachal Pradesh, a hill state of northern India. The town lies on the border of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana states in the Shivalik Hills, around 35 kilometres west of Solan. Chandigarh, a union territory and the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, is around 40 kilometres west of Baddi.

Baddi is a leading industrial centre of Himachal Pradesh, being part of an industrial corridor stretching from Barotiwala to Nalagarh along the western border of Solan district.

Many Indian companies are now seeking to relocate operations to Baddi because of tax concessions being offered by the Central and State governments.

Indian companies like Microlabs [1],Panacea Biotec Ltd.,Bennet Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Colgate Palmolive, GEEP BATTERIES(I)Pvt Ltd, Cadila Healthcare, Nectar Lifesciences,SU-KAM POWER SYSTEMS,Johnson & Johnson,Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Xinda Nonwovens, Amway India Enterprises,wockhardt limited,stovekraft pvt ltd etc. have recently set up large plants in Baddi.

Baddi is also fast emerging into one of the best educational centres in Himachal Pradesh. There is a dental college in the Bhud area. Many new schools such as: Sri Aurbindo Public School, VR Public School C.B.S.E., BL Public School H.B.S.E, Him Shikha Public School H.B.S.E., PC Public School H.B.S.E, Vivek International Public School have opened. These schools have brought a revolution in Baddi. The school which leads them all is Surendra Public School, one of the first private school of the area.

Now there is also an engineering college in baddi, Institute of Engineering and Emerging Technologies. This college is among the some of the best engg. colleges in this region.
