Badalgachhi is located at 24.9667° N 88.8958° E . It has 36614 units of house hold and total area 213.98 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Badalgachhi has a population of 176010. Males constitute are 51.34% of the population, and females 48.66%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 97158. Badalgachhi has an average literacy rate of 28.4% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
