As I remember them the first JCB's I saw were built on a Fordson Model F's which were the ubiquitous farm tractor post WWII 81.132.114.109 (talk) 15:24, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
JCB did not invent the backhoe, Joe Bamford, bought one that he saw in Norway and then adapted and refined the idea and went on to create the modern integrated design that sold so well, the early versions were tractor mounted implements.
