Talk:Backcountry hut

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hmmm... I created this stub to represent New Zealand Backcountry Huts, and then noticed that there's also Climbing hut, Bothy, and Wilderness hut, each representing a similar concept in different parts of the world. Not sure if they should be combined, or if this should be renamed something like New Zealand Backcountry Hut to differentiate it and go into much more specific detail. (NZ backcountry huts do have a lot of their own history which might not fit well into a more general article.) Izogi 04:05, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Profusion of Huts articles

There's a few different articles on huts but there seems to be no common consensus. I left a message on the architecture portal a couple of months ago, but no replies as yet. Since there's 950 huts in NZ, I think I'll start a Backcountry Huts in New Zealand page (or at least add it to my todo list) and create a redirect from Tramping Hut which is what they're most commonly known as. Someone braver than I can tackle hut, climbing hut, wilderness hut, bothy and alpine hut. Malathos 03:04, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
