Backroad
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A backroad (or back road) is a secondary road that typically goes through a sparsely populated area. Backroads are not heavily traveled and rarely appear on large scale travel maps, but can be navigated instead of primary roads or routes to provide a more scenic view, or in some cases, get to a destination quicker. A backroads map or backroads atlas is a type of map or atlas that shows backroads in addition to primary roads. These maps and atlases typically are more zoomed-in in scale and focus on covering (in the United States) individual counties or states, rather than nations or other large regions.
