[edit] Synopsis
Michael returns from his Jamaican vacation rejuvenated, and directs the Party Planning Committee to throw a luau-themed party in the warehouse to accompany the annual inventory. When Pam notices Jan in the margins of a photo from Michael's vacation, he admits to the documentary crew that he and Jan went to Jamaica together.
Michael attempts to send another racy vacation photograph to Todd Packer as proof of the trip, but instead mistakenly sends it to Darryl, the warehouse supervisor. The photo is quickly forwarded throughout the office and beyond. Michael enlists Dwight's assistance in preventing its spread, but these efforts are largely ineffective.
Karen has been upset with Jim because he expressed objections to the prospect of Karen moving into an apartment two blocks from his own. Pam convinces Jim that he is being unreasonable, and Jim accepts her advice and apologizes to Karen. Pam tells the documentary crew that she was glad to help Jim, but Dwight walks in on her crying in private.
During the luau/inventory, Jan arrives at the office to speak with Michael in private, where she confesses her attraction to him against all reason.
[edit] Deleted Scenes
The Season Three DVD contains a number of deleted scenes. Notable cut scenes include:
- Michael arrives from Jamaica at the airport.
- Michael has gifts for people in the office.
- Development of the subplot in which Stanley refuses to work until he gets his bonus.
- In separate talking head interviews, Dwight, Meredith, Angela and Kevin react to the news that Michael took Jan to Jamaica.
- Jan maintains the ruse that she was in Scottsdale while talking to a coworker at Corporate.
- Dwight complains about Jim's pranks while Michael was on vacation. Michael isn't interested.
- Dwight tells Michael that another Stamford employee, new mother Hannah, has quit.
- Roy helps Ryan with inventory.
- Andy challenges Dwight to a box-stacking race. Jim thinks it's a prank until Andy takes it seriously as well.
- Meredith climbs on a shelf, which falls and traps her.
[edit] Trivia
Trivia sections are discouraged under Wikipedia guidelines. The article could be improved by integrating relevant items and removing inappropriate ones. |
- As of this episode, only two people (Andy and Karen) from the Stamford branch remain at the Scranton office.
- Ed Helms (Andy) once again shows his musical talent, this time by learning to play the steel drums after only an hour's worth of lessons.[1]
- The object that Darryl finds is an iPod dock with speakers.[1] Presumably, it was lost during "Casino Night", in which Darryl voiced concerns about something getting stolen during the event.
- This is the second episode of the series in which Ryan has no dialogue.
- In the scene in which Michael enters Darryl's office, boxes from Staples are visible on the shelves.
- In a deleted scene, while driving back from the airport, Michael drives by a building called "Dayton Rogers of California", (Scranton is in Pennsylvania, not California).
- In the first scene after the credits, there is a large stuffed Sideshow Bob, from The Simpsons.
