Bache railway station serves the Bache area in the north of the city of Chester, England. It lies on the Wirral Line of the Merseyrail network, on the Chester branch. Like nearby Capenhurst station it is normally very quiet.

[edit] History

The current station opened in January 1984, replacing the nearby Upton-by-Chester station. The new station cost £145,000.[citation needed] The platforms for the original station can still be seen from the train en route, though now overgrown.

[edit] Services

Trains operate every 30 minutes each day (including Sunday) southwards towards Chester and northwards towards Liverpool via Birkenhead.

A bus service connects Bache railway station with Chester Zoo. This service is provided free of charge to rail users with a valid ticket.
