Bachchu Kadu

Bachchu Kadu is an Independent MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) from Nagpur, India who had climbed an overhead water tank with his supporters and threatened to jump down if the police apprehended them in December 2006.
The 'Sholay' styled agitation was Kadu’s novel way of drawing the attention of the central government of India to the Vidarbha farmers’ suicide issue. After senior ministers gave an assurance that Kadu’s demands would be taken up for discussion in the state cabinet within a month, Kadu and his followers agreed to end their agitation, 24 hours after they started it. Kadu gave up the stir only after warning the deputy Chief Minister that if his demands were not considered within a month, he would resume the agitation.
