The Bachchan family is an Indian film dynasty headed by 'Bollywood' actor Amitabh Bachchan.

It also includes his wife, actress Jaya Bhaduri, his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, and a daughter, Shweta Nanda. It also includes Shweta's children Navya Naveli and Agastya Nanda.

Amitabh Bachchan is the son of Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The family is considered to be very influential in the industry. The family has inter-married with the famous Kapoor Family (film). Shweta Nanda is married to Nikhil Nanda, the son of Ritu Nanda and the grandson of popular actor Raj Kapoor.

Amitabh Bachchan is regarded as amongst the most popular actors in Indian film history, while Abhishek Bachchan has recently been acclaimed for successful and popular film roles. He was engaged to actress Karisma Kapoor, the granddaughter of Raj Kapoor, but they never married. He he is now married to Aishwarya Rai, a wedding that took place amidst a media scrum in mid-2007. Jaya Bachchan is currently involved in the Samajwadi Party, a political Party in Northern India.

The Bachchans have recently been embroiled in a feud with the influential Nehru-Gandhi family.

Almost the whole family of Bachchans is in the film industry. It includes Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and their daughter-in-law Aishwariya Bachchan.
