Baby Boy da Prince (born Lawrence Cennett in 1986) is a rapper from New Orleans. His rap career began at the age of 16 opening for No Limit Records in his hometown. The name "Baby Boy" was given to him by his manager Melvin and he has always called himself "Da Prince". Baby Boy Da Prince is the brother of rapper Choppa.

In 2004 Baby Boy and a local management company, Bosshogg Entertainment, signed a deal with Extreme Entertainment. Beef has been mentioned about him and local New Orleans upcoming rapper Young Trey who apparently was the reason his music career was started with a telephone call to get "The Way I Live" played on the radio, Trey says that "he got the fame and left him" since his brother Choppa wouldn't help with getting a record deal.

In 2005 he opened for 50 Cent, Paul Wall, and Juvenile on tour, spreading his fame outside of New Orleans. In August, Baby Boy experienced Hurricane Katrina firsthand "On [his] block floating with everybody else." The storm left him in a trailer where he wrote new music preparing for a comeback.

In 2006 the radio station Q93 (WQUE) started playing Baby Boy's single "The Way I Live" and within three weeks, it was the number one record. Universal Republic Records took notice and signed Baby Boy Da Prince as its premiere Hip Hop act. Additionally, he recorded "The Way I Live- Saints Remix" to celebrate the New Orleans Saints recent success, and has become a success in the New Orleans community, where it is being played locally. He updated and remade the remix and let local radio station B97 (WEZB) host it on their website, where it is available for free download. "The Way I Live" was released onto the radio on September 6, 2006.

In 2007 Baby Boy's debut album, Across the Water, dropped March 20, 2007. Across the Water entered the charts at No. 26. The album's single, "The Way I Live" has received moderate airplay and helped the newcomer pull 25,700 discs off the shelf that week. On May 24, he did a radio interview with Jonathan from 97.5 WABB in Mobile and discussed his sexual conquests, which included a one night stand with a girl with a prosthetic leg. He also dated R&B star Fantasia Barrino for a short time. Across The Water charted as follows:
