Dr. B K Goyal is an internationally acclaimed cardiologist and medical educationist of India. Dr. Goyal is the only cardiologist outside the United States to have the unique distinction of being appointed as the Hon. Consultant Cardiologist to the world famous Texas Heart Institute at Houston, USA.

Dr. Goyal is the Hony. dean and chief cardiologist at the Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences and is a former Director-Professor of cardiology of JJ Group of Hospitals and Grant Medical College, Bombay.

He is a visiting professor of cardiology at the University of Alabama, in USA and visiting cardiologist to the Oschner Heart Institute, New Orleans. The State Government also honoured him by appointing him as the Professor Emeritus of Cardiology at the Grant Medical College for life. He served as a member of the Executive Council and Senate of the University of Bombay for several years. He is a member of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India and also the Medical Council of India. Dr. Goyal has also written the book "Heart Talk". He is the ex-chairman of the Haffkins Institute.

He was conferred Padma Shri, the Padma Bhushan and finally the Padma Vibhushan award in 2005. This is a very rare achievement and only 2 people in India have received all 3 Padma Awards till now.

The renowed Dr.Goyal has achieved success in all eras of life. He was proposed for the post of the Vice President of India in July 2007 and the was the Sheriff of Mumbai in 1980.

He has 1 son and 3 daughters : Alka Jhunjhunwala, Rahul Goyal, Sandhya MIttersain, Varsha Sethi. He has 9 grandchildren : Rakhee Jaipuria, Nitish Mittersain, Rishi Jhunjhunwala, Shikha Goyal, Neerja Mittersain, Gaurav Sethi, Namrata Goyal, Aakash Sethi, Arush Goyal.
