[edit] UFC 22

Morning, and welcome to Wikipedia.

Let's look at the edit you made, and I'll show you why I took it out:

"The stunning single punch that dropped unconscious Judson face-first to the ground later became one of the most frequently replayed UFC knockout footages, used in the "highlights" intro sequence until UFC replaced it with the gladiator-themed one."

The last part about the highlights could probably stay, as long as you were able to find a reliable source to cite for it. The problem is that you stated you had to research this yourself, then post the results. Unfortunately, that violates Wikipedia's policy against original research. It does seem somewhat noteworthy, so if you can find a source for that I'd be happy to have it in the article.

As to the first sentence, you're editorializing. Wikipedia, at its heart, is an encyclopedia. We're supposed to be simply giving the factual information in a brief, concise manner (check out the policies and guidelines pages for more information. That precludes unnecessary commentary like "the stunning single punch that dropped unconscious Judson face-first to the ground." Maybe it was stunning, but the more encyclopedic way to state it is simply to report the outcome of the fight (Kohler by KO), then make a brief note about anything from the fight that was notable (e.g. "Clips of the knockout were used by the UFC in their PPV intros from UFC 30 to UFC 60 (cite)). Or, if there was a "Knockout of the Night" bonus given, or something like that, you could also mention that with a source. Tuckdogg (talk) 14:14, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

The punch *was* stunning as it rendered Judson unconscious. Other "unnecessary commentary" was factual information as well, verifiable unfortunately only by watching copyrighted UFC content. I agree about the mentioned Wikipedia guidelines but I also believe that one of the most recognized knockouts in MMA history ever deserves a few words of description, especially having happened in a bout of relatively unknown fighters. I'll add the note without using the ambiguous "stunning" word and citing the compilations the KO was featured on. Please look the KO up on YouTube btw! --B-Twin (talk) 20:44, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
