Description

Hovedgaarden Børglumkloster i Vendsyssel var oprindelig en Kongsgaard, der allerede nævnes paa Knud den Helliges Tid. I det følgende Aarh. blev Gaarden skænket til Præmonstratenserordenen, som c. 1130 opførte den Bygning, der for alt væsentligt staar der endnu. Efter Reformationen var Klosteret kgl. Lehn, indtil Christian IV 1623 henlagde det til det nyoprettede ridderlige Akademi i Sorø Efter dettes Nedlæggelse blev Gaarden 1669 privat Ejendom. Blandt dens Ejere kan nævnes Laurits de Thurah, Christiansborgs og Hirschholms Bygmester, der ejede Gaarden 1750-57
Tilhører nu Familien Rottbøll.
