[edit] Can You Help Me on This???

I need to know where to contact the administrators, in order to inform them that the article: Iggy Arbuckle needs images. I've asked other users who have edited that page to give their comments if possible, but please leave yours on my talkpage as well. Thanks ahead of time!!! [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Vasonovasus.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Vasonovasus.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Alx 91 19:03, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Drawer Full of Socks

Thanks for correcting my sock note on the anon. It's Fran14 who overuses -DT, right? -- Gridlock Joe 16:09, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

  • No -- Fran 14 is associated with Dingbat. The person who overuses the -DT is the one who uses only IPs, and has a strange affinity for one NBC WX+ weather person in particular. -- azumanga 16:37, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Tvu.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Tvu.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. [edit] Special Treat

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Special Treat, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. B. Wolterding 13:52, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use disputed for Image:Ctndetroit.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ctndetroit.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:14, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Wgtucoverage1996.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Wgtucoverage1996.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. [edit] Will Smith talk page

Hello, Azumanga1. What was the reason for your removal of the edits seen in this link on the Will Smith talk page? Your removal was stated to be based on "all commentary by Mmbabies, regardless of merit, subject to reversal."

Of course, I don't appreciate being called an Mmbaby, if that comment was referring to me as well. And I was following the correct response on a talk page at Wikipedia when another editor ("official editor" or IP) makes a comment — to talk back, provide proof to back up claims or disprove claims when making or disputing claims. I certainly don't feel that I acted wrongly or immaturely on that matter. If your comment was not calling me a baby, then, of course, disregard this comment of mine, even though you may do that regardless, but I wanted to respond to you on this matter...and so I did. I'll see you around. Flyer22 01:34, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for replying. I replied here, of course. Sorry about the confusion on my part earlier about this. Flyer22 11:36, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WCWF

Hi, I see you've merged WCWF into WWBI-LP. Have you yourself seen it on the air with WWBI programming? Because if you take a look at the FCC database (http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?call=WCWF), it's still just a construction permit. I'm pretty sure it needs to be licensed to go on the air. -Noname2 18:48, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Someone claimed to have seen WCWF on the air, carrying ION programming. Also, that person mentioned that the folks that owned WWBI are also owners of the station. If this is false, then it should be reverted back to where it was. -- azumanga 16:27, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I've undone the merger then until we can get confirmation that WCWF is really a WWBI repeater. Even if it is, it apparently just signed and therefore could only be testing. -Noname2 22:15, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:12, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: The articles with the signatures

If you encounter a "signed" article, chances are that it may have any of the following:

(1) TV station srticles may have something like this in the call letter field, instead of just the calls: KSDK / KSDK-DT ST. LOUIS, MO (just as an example). Also, the editor uses "+" instead of decimals or nothing for digital channels. The editor also insists that all words expressed as a single word, such as "NewsCenter", be expressed as two words ("News Center").

(2) Road articles may have the overuse of all-capitalised words (like "EXIT" instead of "exit") and abbreviations (like "Rd.", instead of "Road").

In all cases, besides the signing of the articles, the person's edits violate Wiki standards for these articles. He also uses multiple IPs to do his edits, even though he's been warned many, many times for what he did. Next time you encounter a signed article, best to revert it all the way, instead of just deleting the sig; then, report the violating IP. Thanks for your cooperation. -- azumanga 16:11, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

You can report people for using bad capitalization now? I wasn't aware that was a blockable offense – Gurch 16:12, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
I suggest asking Dhett, ViperSnake151 and TwinsMetsFan for more details; they know all about this mystery editor as well. -- azumanga 16:16, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
I'll look into it if and when I have the time. Thanks – Gurch 16:33, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] KAMR and Amarillo cable

According to zap2it.com and TitanTV.com, Amarillo (ZIP code 79101) has only one cable company - Suddenlink, and they carry KAMR on cable channel 5 on both their analog and digital systems. I don't know from where you got the idea that all cable companies in a market had to be represented, but that is clearly not so. Regardless of your history with the user in question, the information was accurate, just poorly written, which I rectified. There was no justification for removing it. dhett (talk contribs) 05:06, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Good point - references to the cable position should specify the cable provider. I didn't think it was necessary for Amarillo, as Suddenlink is the only provider serving the immediate metro area, but on second thought, I should have cited the provider as a rule of thumb. dhett (talk contribs) 23:05, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Azumanga1, WHY are you removing channel lineups for certain channels??

By the way, why do you only remove the cable channel listings, and not the satellite channel listings? It's pretty much the same thing, still a small schedule/list like you pointed out to me in your reply. It looks like you spent quite the amount of your day(s) to cover almost every television channel currently existing today that has an article on Wikipedia. So who are you working for? Who's paying you? Wiki, the NCTA, the U.S. Government, or something else? Why not just leave some things the way they already were, instead of wasting that large part of your day(s) removing cable channel listings on Wikipedia TV channel articles? Is helping people a bad thing to you? Do you find it to be offensive when you see cable channel listings on a Wikipedia TV channel article? You know nowadays almost everybody in the United States uses the internet, including young children. Buying a TV Guide or something similar in a grocery store isn't the only option now to find out what channel your favorite television network is. What about people that travel for business, etc.? Some TV network websites, cable company websites, or even hotels don't give/show too much detail or help to tell people what channel a certain television network is on for certain cable services, so they'll check out the internet (if accessible) and maybe look at Wikipedia? Wikipedia WAS one source that I myself(and i'm sure many, many others) used whenever i'd ever be out on business in another state/city/etc., but now that you've been editing out all these cable channel listings for almost all(probably ALL, I haven't checked or feel like wasting my time to check) of the cable TV network articles on Wikipedia, i'll be definately having an even tougher time finding out what channel number I need to look for when i'm in a hotel, etc. I'll say it again, I strongly suggest that you revert all of the changes you've done to any TV network articles you've messed around with, stop being so strict and following all of these little rules, it would be really beneficial to anybody else in my position, even for the curious ones. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.25.130.247 (talk) 05:55, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RE: U-Verse

"Do you have any proof that the lineup is universal, save for local channels? U-Verse may have a different line-up in different cities, like Verizon's Fios. Also, while it is a unique cable system, it is still a cable system, so there's no need to single this out. Also, if you do have the urge to mention U-verse again, please know how to do tables properly -- how you did it messes up the table. -- azumanga 16:04, 31 October 2007 (UTC) Also, just saying that it is universal means nothing without a source backing it up. Cease or desist, or you'll may find yourself blocked."

Sorry I don't spend all of my time and days messing around on Wikipedia so I couldn't reply alittle faster, but how do you know it's not universal? Did you confirm this yourself? AT&T U-Verse IS in fact universal for most channels(except local channels like Fox, NBC, ABC, etc.) in most states. U-Verse is an IPTV(Internet Protocol based Television) cable service. If you don't want to believe me, go outside of your house and look for an AT&T tech and ask them, or even better just goto the U-Verse website (https://uverse1.att.com/un/launchAMSS.do). As from what I was told by AT&T in California, U-Verse channel lineups are universal around the United States for Most channels, look it up or call AT&T. By the way, you never answered all of my questions to you from my paragraph I sent on your page. One more thing, quit being an arrogant asshole, mate, and next time answer all of my questions first before leaving comments on my page like "Cease or desist, or you'll may find yourself blocked", who do you think you are?

Rules are rules, standards are standards. No one is above the law. If we have to list U-Verse, we will have to list every cable TV system in the United States. Realise this. -- azumanga 01:14, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

We? Do YOU work with Wikipedia - The Free Online Encyclopedia? I asked you this question before, and you never answered. What do you mean "Rules are rules, standards are standards", why do you say that after already asking me for proof that U-Verse is universal, what was the point of you asking me that question then? What more do you want to accept the fact that it is universal unlike most cable companies and that it deserves the right to be displayed the same way that satellite companies are? Have you developed some sort of personal problem with me or something? You say "No one is above the law", well YOU aren't either, so WHO do you think you are?

[edit] Another Dingbat2007 sockpuppet - can you help?

I've been dogging another Dingbat sock, Rebafan4, and have requested a block, but the admins haven't acted yet, and I need to sign off now - can you check up on him? I also sent this to Blueboy96 Neutralhomer. Thanks. dhett (talk contribs) 00:54, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Abuse Accusations?

TV9 here. I just came across statements accusing me of "abusing" Wikipedia as a "sock puppet." I'm relatively new to Wikipedia but I can assure you that I've done no such thing. I fully admit to having corrected errors posted on the WGN-TV page in the past (most posted by Rollosmokes) through Tribune Company's IP address but that was only because I didn't sign in to my account before doing so. Why would I even consider being deceptive for making corrections? I was never aware and have never been instructed that it was a Wikipedia requirement to always sign in to an account before editing. If that's the case, I will do so in the future. I respectfully request that the accusations of my abusing Wikipedia be undone. Thanks. TV9 06:23, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

The main reason you were a sockpuppet was that you were constantly bickering and, even, edit warring with Rollosmokes over the usage of "The" in "The CW" name, and that you used IP addresses for edits similar to what you did. Personally, I believe you were right in the use of "The CW", but it gotten way out of hand at the time, and, as a result, I had to do something. Otherwise, I am sorry if I seemed a little too strong on the situation. -- azumanga (talk) 03:12, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for responding. Regarding the bickering with Rollosmokes, should I have allowed him to keep posting what he wanted even though other Wikipedia editors instructed him not to? Unlike Rollosmokes, I followed their instructions. Rollosmokes is the only editor I experienced such an encounter with and judging by his lengthy history with others, I'm only one of many. Honestly, I think I was unfairly branded while Rollosmokes wasn't. To reiterate, I was in no way attempting to be deceptive. If you had asked me to always sign in before editing, I promise you I would have. In fact, yesterday was the first time I noticed your postings from last September. I respectfully hope you reconsider and clear my name. Thanks again. TV9 (talk) 04:54, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
My name is mentioned here, so I guess I should respond. While you may agree with TV9 on this subject, I strongly believe that both of you are missing the point -- I will reiterate again, the word the should be capitalized ONLY when beginning a sentence, not when it appears within a sentence. This is proper grammar and writing style. TV9 doesn't want to understand that and, judging from the origin of the IP address, he has acted like a sockpuppet as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes we all take stuff on here way too seriously, but when it comes to proper use of style and grammar, I feel very strongly with sticking to the rules. I stand by may opinion. Rollosmokes (talk) 08:32, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
Once again, Rollosmokes has resumed edit warring and continues to disregard Wikipedia editors' instructions to stop reverting "The CW" and "The WB" to "the CW" and "the WB", while I unfairly continue to be labeled as a "sock puppet." TV9 (talk) 06:45, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Please advise. Thanks. TV9 (talk) 05:56, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:Klcs2006a.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Klcs2006a.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with no fair use rationale uploaded after May 4, 2006 which has been tagged as not having a rationale for more than 7 days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Better source request for Image:4kidstvgamestation.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:4kidstvgamestation.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. OsamaK (talk) 08:01, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gainesville, Florida

I have a question for you. What was the purpose of your last edit? It introduced an enormous white space into the article, right after the lead paragraph. I went ahead and reverted it, but I was curious as to what you were attempting to accomplish, since you are obviously not a vandal, but I cannot think of a reason to do such a thing. [edit] Qubo Article

I apologized for that, it is not your fault. I talked to Goodshoped and he was very rude to me. He tagged on my user talk page and I did not like what he wrote on my page. I did not talk trash to him, I am just giving him suggestions and he was the last person to edit this page.

Thank you for fixing the qubo page and I am sorry for what I said to you. I don't like people giving me rude comments or tag my user page, I delete them.

[edit] Thank you for the Qubo Article Changes

Thank you for the info change. I started using wikipedia six months ago and I am not familiar how to source like what you did when you cited the source? I am sorry I did not cite the source earlier because I did not know how you cited the number[4] like that. Maybe someday, you should give me tips and be the next editor in charge. You are a nice person when you correct other people's mistakes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cbears22 (talkcontribs) 09:12, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Kytv.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Kytv.jpg.

Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:35, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Redwall...

Thanks for fixing my overzealous fix on PBSKids...we just get so much schmutz on that article that I thought--it's from an anon, I've never in my life heard of it, it's from an anon.... Shows what I know!!! :) My bad. Thanks again.Gladys J Cortez 00:23, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] You are a god. (Goddess?? Actually, I don't know WHICH you are.)

But whichever: THANK YOU SO MUCH for un-Jamesinc14-ifying PBSKids for me. I've HAD it with that little snert, and though (d'oh!) I just figured out "revert" vs. "undo 27 intermediate edits one by one", (and you'd think someone with my general non-total-cluelessness would have come up with THAT concept on her own--I repeat, d'oh!)--I still wasn't too excited about having to go back and clean that mess up. Thank you, thank you, thank you!Gladys J Cortez 23:43, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Your awesomeness continues unabated. I think I'm just going to have to keep a "Thanks, Azumanga1!" macro somewhere, if this keeps up... Obviously GMTA, as regards reporting our good buddy Jamesinc14...again, I really, REALLY appreciate your vigilance. Have a great holiday (assuming you celebrate this one...See, this is the problem of Wikipedia; it's hard to get a grasp on who's really behind the username, and sometimes it's easy to risk insulting someone based on well-meant assumptions. So...You know what? Just "Thanks." :))Gladys J Cortez 17:37, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] XHAW-TV

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article XHAW-TV, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of XHAW-TV. [edit] Radio Disney stations

I have no problem retaining station articles in the proposed merge to Radio Disney where there is history, but articles which have only basic information about the station need to either be improved or merged. Your rational for reverting my changes confuses me. You mention that there is history but I don't see it in the articles, were you planning on improving these articles to include this history?--Rtphokie (talk) 23:43, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

The thing is that, while there is insufficient history in the articles for now, call letter changes in the FCC database and some Google searches may indicate that the stations have some sort of history. And there's also the fact that not all Radio Disney stations are owned by Disney (WPGA in Macon's one of them). Because of this, I feel it is best to leave the articles as they are. -- azumanga (talk) 02:22, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Concensus is that radio station articles for stations which have no local programming and are essentially translators for network programming produced elsewhere should be merged into either the flagship station article or the network article. Articles which contain historical information are an exception and should be retained. If you have a source for this historical information, let's get these articles improved (I'll be glad to help). If you have a list of Radio Disney affiliates owned by non-Disney companies, let's get that noted in those articles (I've already updated WPGA). If this information isn't available, then the articles need to be merged.--Rtphokie (talk) 17:00, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of Deal or No Deal models (US)

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article List of Deal or No Deal models (US), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] AfD nomination of List of local children's television series (United States)

An editor has nominated List of local children's television series (United States), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of local children's television series (United States) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:31, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:WAOW.jpg

I have tagged Image:WAOW.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. MECUtalk 20:17, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

(copy/paste from my archive) In the event you hadn't seen it on my talk page before it was archived. JPG-GR (talk) 06:11, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

There is no such thing as a licensed AM radio translator in the United States. These stations you speak of are either not translators or are not licensed. The use of this particluar template in this particular situation is invalid. JPG-GR (talk) 03:17, 7 January 2008 (UTC) Try utilizing {{RadioRebroadcasters}} instead. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Teleritmo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Teleritmo.gif.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:44, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Kenneth Copeland

I didn't think that was an ad, since the products are being given for free!

So you are saying all of this is considered an ad:

===Kenneth Copeland Ministries & Mike Huckabee===
The Kenneth Copeland Ministries program "Believer's Voice of Victory" (BVOV) had six daily
programs in late 2007 (Sunday 2007-11-25 through Friday 2007-11-30) with 2008 USA Presidential
 Candidate Mike Huckabee.
These non-political messages explores two foundational teachings: The Need for Character and
Integrity and The Integrity of Character. The CD &/ DVD of these programs are available for
free, not even a shipping charge. from the estore on their ministry web site (see below
in external links). (Registration on the web site needed to order.) All BVOV programs are freely
available for download also, but these CD or DVD will be of Higher Quality, by at least one
 order of magnitude.

How about if I only add the first paragraph & the first sentance of the second paragraph. Would you say that is an ad? This part about the CD & DVD, I agree could be construed as being an AD. Though The CDs & DVDs are being given to you absolutely free! (Just like this Wikipedia article is Free!!)

[edit] Moody Broadcasting Network

I saw your note on User:Rtphokie's talk page about the templates featured on Moody Broadcasting Network. I had fixed all of the tables at one point, but User:Neutralhomer reverted to the incorrect template and I forgot to change it back.

Tonight, I went through and did some codework on the proper template to account for the rebroadcasting of a station on the AM band. I've documented it on the template's documentation page, and I think it all makes sense. Either way, I've since righted the templates on Moody Broadcasting Network and utilized the upgrades to include the FCC info, for both the AM and FM bands. JPG-GR (talk) 03:22, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] In response to your comment...

For the third time, that's not what I'm talking about. The style guidelines say there should not be commas in the dates. That's all I am advocating. I don't care which style we use. aido2002talk·userpage 02:10, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Arthur funding vandal

See what one mistake does? Now I'm questioning my judgement of what is and isn't vandalism, to the point that I don't know whether or not I should revert the funding date changes anymore! :) Where does the correct info on those funding sources come from, anyhow? How do we know which are the right years? Gladys J Cortez 03:14, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup tag on "Betsy's Kindergarten Adventures"

Hi there...I noticed you put the cleanup tag on Betsy's Kindergarten Adventures. What is it that needs cleaning up? It's fairly stubby, still, but what's there doesn't seem too horrible.... Just wondering, anyhow. Thanks! Gladys J Cortez 21:56, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cut & paste move on WRRD / WAUK

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.

[edit] HELP!

Would you please do me the favor of taking a look at the recent edits to PBS KIDS by Timothy Chavis? Since PBS Kids is no longer a network, is the broadcast infobox appropriate? Esp with the changes he's made to it? And what do you think the deal is with the cleanup tag--other than that he messed up the formatting himself?? Thanks....Gladys J Cortez 22:31, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:KCBY.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:KCBY.jpg.

Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 19:38, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WGN-TV

Once again, Rollosmokes has resumed edit warring and continues to disregard Wikipedia editors' instructions to stop reverting "The CW" and "The WB" to "the CW" and "the WB", while I unfairly continue to be labeled as a "sock puppet." Please advise. Thanks. TV9 (talk) 03:47, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Response to TV9

Please pardon me, Azumanga1, but I have to do this here:
If you ("TV9") have a problem with me or my edits, then speak to me directly and stop running to a middle-person (i.e. Azumanga1) for help. By the way, I haven't touched your sacred WGN-TV article for a full week. ([1]) I really think it's hypocritical coming from someone who hasn't edited anything here in over two months, and only appears when his favorite article (your way of violating WP:OWN and WP:POINT) is changed. Change the sound of your one-note song, please. Rollosmokes (talk) 05:37, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

If you are going to add the canadian channels to espn template, then add them all, not just the sports channels, like viewers choice, animal planet, discovery channel, discovery hd, discovery civization, nhl network... and also remove wtsn as it is no longer on the air. 99.236.63.51 (talk) 03:37, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] ESPN

ESPN does own a interest in all of the channels that I listed in the ESPN template. Have you even checked each of the articles websites to see if ESPN owns an interest or not? Because ESPN does. ESPN owns a 20% interest in CTV Specialty Television Inc., which owns TSN, RDS, RIS, ESPN Classics Canada, Viewers Choice, NHL Network Canada, Animal Planet Canada, Discovery channel Canada, Discovery HD Canada and Discovery Civilization Channel. Check each articles website for youeself to see. Check here and you can also check the CRTC website here and here. Theres all the proof you need. 99.236.63.51 (talk) 03:03, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

I gave you an outside source, HERE, that's your outside source that ESPN owns an interest in Discovery Channel Canada and al of the other channels I listed. And HERES another link from the CRTC website showing that ESPN owns an interest in other channels. I am giving you many outside sources showing this and you still revert it, if this continues, then it may lead to you being blocked because it is a form of continued vandalism. 99.236.63.51 (talk) 03:21, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] March 2008

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to Template:ESPN, you will be blocked from editing. -- 99.236.63.51 (talk) 03:28, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you delete or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did to WYSX, you will be blocked from editing. This is because you deleted over half of the article. Why!?! Milonica (talk) 03:08, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to WAMF, without explaining the valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Further, marking a major change like this as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:49, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Michiganchannel.gif

Thank you for uploading Image:Michiganchannel.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:44, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of List of cliffhanger endings

An editor has nominated List of cliffhanger endings, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of cliffhanger endings and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:00, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:ESPN Template

For the final time, I have already given you a outside url proving that ESPN Inc. owns an interest in all of those channels I listed. It is already stated in each of the specific channels article that the channels are owned by CTV Specialty Television Inc. And CTV Specialty Television Inc. is 80% owned by CTVglobemedia and 20% owned by ESPN Inc. And CTV Specialty Television Inc. owns all of those channels that I lised in the template.

That is how it works. It does not matter whatsoever whether ESPN Inc. owns an interest in the American versions of these channels or not, but they do own an interest in the Canadian ones.

For a second time, heres the proof: 1. First of all, check each specific article for yourself. It states it there. 2. Secondly check this link and it clearly shows what I explained earlyier. 3. Third, here are 2 outside url links from the CRTC's website, an ownership charts, that clearly shows the ownership of these channels and you will see that ESPN INc. owns a 20% interest in them all. LINK 1 and LINK 2

There is all the proof you need. I have stated this before to you and I have also given you proof of this before as well, so by reverting these articles, it is considered vandalism, and if this continues then an Wikipedia administator will need to intervine and you will be blocked. Thank you! 99.236.63.51 (talk) 02:15, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WCVB-TV

Yes, a channel 5 existed prior to WCVB-TV. The article, however, is not about that station—it is about WCVB, and WCVB came into existence in 1972. 121a0012 (talk) 05:54, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] standardization

I've noticed that many television station templates have been migrating towards using the navbox template instead of custom templates. perhaps we should start helping out with the rest, starting with Detroit, NYC, and Los Angeles?

As well, since canada has templates listing stations by network, should we do the same for America (such as Template:NBC Stations)? RingtailedFoxTalkContribs 10:57, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] KPNX ID

Your comments here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:KPNX#KPNX_ID KPNX usually IDs itself as KPNX-TV KPNX-DT Phoenix-Mesa. The stations official COL is Mesa but as I have stated before COL really does not mean much anymore. All a COL gets is a top of ID on screen or audio on TV and audio on radio. In addition COL gets a city grade signal. The same is said of WOI-TV which IDs itself WOI-TV WOI-DT Des Moines-Ames (Ames is the COL). However if they are IDing themselves just as KPNX-DT they are breaking the law as the analog signal must be included in it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oak999 (talkcontribs) 20:43, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for theadvice on the category which I created "Religious programmes".I did not know at the time of the two closely allied categories, covering "Religious television series" and "Religious radio series".The category has now served its use, as some articles, such as that on the UK series Songs of Praise, have now been categorised as "Religious television series" - I think the new one can be deleted, and sorry about not knowing about these similar categories! [edit] OUTtv pages

Hi, recently you made various edits to both OUTtv and OUTTV, redirecting both and creating disambig pages. Disambig pages are used for article titles that have the exact same spelling, ie. Cosmopolitan Television where there are several different CosmoTV channels around the world which have the exact same spelling, so a disambig page would be useful in that enstance to distinguish between the different channels from around the world. OUTtv and OUTTV are different as they both use different spelling, no disambig page is required here. In both articles, it clearly states in the "See also" section to refer to this article for that subject. At most, all may be needed is at the top of the page it state "For the similiar television channel in the Netherlands see: OUTTV" and viseversa. Thank you for your edits but they are unnecessary. MusiMax (talk) 02:35, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Rather, I should say, there is no need for the nationally in the title of the article as both channels use different spelling, a disambig page using "OUT TV" or more appropriate "Out TV" would be fine, but the nationally of the service as in "OUTtv (Canada)" is not needed as both services use different spelling. MusiMax (talk) 02:48, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Cyberchase-ei.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Cyberchase-ei.jpg.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by an adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 17:05, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Wbgutv.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Wbgutv.jpg.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:08, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Choifm.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Choifm.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --22:56, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Alaskaone.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Alaskaone.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:15, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

Your recent edit to Qubo on ION constituted vandalism. If you continue this you'll be blocked from editing wikipedia.--IloveCallie —Preceding comment was added at 23:53, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Template: KidsTVBlocksUS

This is your last warning you'll recieve for yor disruptive edits. If you vandalize wikipedia once more, as you did to Template: KidsTVBlocksUS you'll be blocked from editing.--Supermall —Preceding comment was added at 01:59, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Goldwater's

Your recent revert on Goldwater's is incorrect. May Company acquired Associated Dry Goods in 1986, NOT 1983, and the division was dissolved in 1989. I have reveted your edits again. Please verify your facts before making edits. Thank you. Dma124 (talk) 11:17, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Need your insight over at AN/I

We're talking about Jamesinc14 and I've got a couple of admins who don't know him well enough to make a judgement re: sock--they've asked me for more info and though Nate was over there, I thought since you were the one who pointed JI14 out to me originally, your input would be helpful. [edit] TV templates being mass-changed by new user

I saw that you edited at least one TV template, so I'm asking for your help. I need that you look at the contributions from User:MadeForMe. Also, please look at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#new_user_mass-editing_templates and at posted at WP:TV wikiproject --Enric Naval (talk) 18:24, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Wsym2006.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Kmay.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kmay.jpg.

Thank you. Ditto for Image:Kcen.jpg. --Geniac (talk) 13:19, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
