[edit] Theme Music

This is sort of retarded but have u noticed that Azula kinda has her own theme music? It is two high notes then a low one repeated over and over. RedwallFreak305, June 20, 2007, 12:24 am

Okay, first off, DO NOT SAY THINGS LIKE THAT!!!! It's extremly rude. Second off, yous lose credibility for commenting like that. Third off, well, actually there is no third off right now, I need to go do some digging to find what you are looking for. It sounds like a theme that's used a lot in the series, but do you know what episode it's in? Keyblade Mage 01:47, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Keyblade Mage

You just majorly pissed me. What was so rude about what i said? Also, the theme is a bit more detailed than i first descibed it. The theme appears in the Avatar State, Return to Omashu, Zuko Alone, The Chase, The Drill, Appa's Lost Days, The Guru, and CoD. Wait, were you talking about my Azula being hot and cute thing? umm... I think if a real person is attracted to fictional drawings then they have issues... and I noticed that theme music too...[[User:SxeFluff--SxeFluff 15:07, 18 October 2007 (UTC)]] 10:11, 18 October 2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by SxeFluff (talkcontribs)

The Human brain is wired to recognize familiar shapes/patterns. It's hard to explain completely w/o a wall-o-text attack, and psychology lesson.

The wiring allows us to "Humanize" things that aren't Human, but have vaguely recognizable features. It lets us identify things like smily face icons, bacon & egg faces, images in clouds, and shit like that.

Being aroused by a picture, photograph, drawing, sprite, 3d model, etc. is perfectly normal. If however, you prefer the image over the real thing, then you have a problem. Obsession. Same goes for a mental image of your perfect or dream girl/guy. Dwelling too much on the proxy is unhealthy. 1. 1: You failed to see that I was kidding. Read my last comment on "Aang Relationship".
  2. 2: I do NOT prefer an image of a girl to a real girl.
  3. 3: I'm not a member so I dont care about credibility. (RedwallFreak305) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.194.100.227 (talk) 01:00, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Blue Dragon

Over the past few days I've been going through the character pages of all the Avatar characters and deleting whatever "Trivia" sections there were, placing important info in other portions of the page and deleting the fluff. I think I've got it all, but I've run into some problems in finding places to put the important info; in Azula's case, her stint as the Blue Dragon in Zuko's dream in The Earth King. I think it's important enough to warrant continued inclusion on her page, but I've got no clue where, or how, it should be presented. So, I just made a section called "The Blue Dragon" and stuck it in the "Personality" section, 'cause nothing else seemed more applicable. Still, it's not the best place, or even a good section title, so I think it should be moved/merged with another section. Anybody have any ideas? JBK405 01:45, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

I agree that the Blue dragon is important enough to be included in the page. I think what you've just done is fine for the time being, unless it would be better to put it under Family, in Zuko's section? Most of the information there is about the Blue Dragon, though. Hm. Bagpipeturtle 01:55, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Can she be the dragon of the east? I mean Iroh was noted dragon of the west a couple of times in the show.-kayla july,23

The Dragon of the West was just Iroh's nickname, Azula's never been called anything similar. JBK405 00:22, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Okay but in her article "The blue dragon" section it said the blue dragon is known to be "The dragon of the East" she was the blue dragon in zuko's dream ,does that mean anything?-kayla july,24

Not particularly. Though they share common themes and a heavy influence, Avatar mythology and Chinese mythology are not one and the same. The Dragon of the West has, so far, been connected to nothing more than Iroh himself, until we get something else Azula isn't going to be known as the Dragon of the East. JBK405 03:44, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

the blue dragon represents one of the two sides of his choice (Iroh/Azula) I think it should go in the Zuko section. Pokejm32 march 20 2:22 pm —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.91.113.31 (talk) 20:25, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Actually mentioning the dragon is going to far, but to mention she was a cause of serious distress for Zuko is good enough. Rau's talk 20:56, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ruler?

I was just going to delete this, but the edit page requested to discuss the changes to her titles. I'm requesting the change of the title "Ruler of Ba Sing Se". It's Princess Azula, not Fire Lady Azula. She's no more the ruler of Ba Sing Se than she is the ruler of Omashu/New Ozai. True, she was the major factor in conquering it, but that city, along with everything else that's conquered by the Fire Nation, belongs to Fire Lord Ozai. Not Azula. 74.167.170.215 03:29, 15 September 2007 (UTC) --

[edit] Azula's blue flames

I know its just speculation, but i heard it a bunch of times and im wondering if its relevant to put on the page, but that Azula may have a piece of sozin's comet like in the form of a necklace or something, and thats why she's the only character in the show that can produce blue flame and lightning so easily without tiring, anyway, maybe just speculation but for me it explains a lot. Like not even iroh can do blue flames, or jeong jeong, and they are master fire benders.

kungfujack

I think Azula's blue fire just represents how intense she is when fighting, and she's a very skilled Firebender to begin with... We don't know that Iroh and Jeong Jeong can't produce it. We just haven't seen it from them. TakaraLioness 19:22, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

To kungfujack: no offense ,but I'd use a period or two in your sentences. I'm not a grammar freak or anything, but I think it would help understand what you're writing. It took me a while to understand what you meant. No offense dude. And I'm not convinced by that piece of sozin's comet stuff.[[User:SxeFluff:--SxeFluff 15:15, 18 October 2007 (UTC)]] 10:20, 18 October 2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by SxeFluff (talkcontribs)

galarcaf:

I normally don't edit or discuss anything in wikipedia so I apologize if my comment might be a tad unorthodox in format, but I thought I could perhaps shed some light (no pun intended) as to the nature of blue firebending.
I have worked with metal before, and have casted, forged, and welded; one of the tools at our disposal is the blowtorch which is fed by two big tanks containing propane and oxygen. Using the blowtorch is about as close to real-life firebending as one can get, and one starts by releasing propane and igniting it using a friction sparker, giving you a nice orange flame that rises gently. After you have the flame you release oxygen, gradually making the flame turn blue and making it shoot straight forward more forcefully. Fire is a chemical reaction and blue fire is hotter because there is much more of that reaction taking place; in short, blue fire burns oxygen much more efficiently.
One could make the connection between that and the emphasis of "proper breath control" that has been been mentioned in the show and it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to come to the conclusion that Azula probably has perfected proper breath control, I can also imagine perfect breath control is harder to attain at an older age in the case of Iroh and Jeong Jeong. While blue fire's connection to proper breathing is purely speculative, the fact that blue fire burns oxygen more efficiently is not, so I thought I might bring it up as an addition. Galarcaf (talk) 06:42, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

If anyone should have magical blue flames, don't you think it should be Ozei??? pokejm32(march 20 2:25 ) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.91.113.31 (talk) 20:31, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Ozai, and they arent magical blue flames. Do you even watch the show? Rau's talk 20:59, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Relationships

The relationship section in Aangs article has been removed due to being considered original research, only fair that Azula and all the other characters have their relationship sections removed as well, as all relationship content seems to be considered original research by Wikipedias standards. [/sarcasm]. Can anyone get the Aang relationship section back? 189.32.153.180 (talk) 23:15, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

I have just found that all of the sections regarding Azula's relationships, save Mai and Ty Lee, have been deleted, including those of her family members. This hasn't happened on other pages, so might I ask why so many relationship articles are being edited or deleted? I suggest that at least her family relationships be restored.76.24.145.157 (talk) 20:24, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Azula2.JPG

Image:Azula2.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Good article

How does everyone feel about trying to get this to Good article status? Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 21:18, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

I mean no offense when I say this, but GOOD LUCK! This article literally has NO out-of-universe information. If you plan to take this seriously, first I recommend you delete the family section (Not trim-down. Simply edit the article and delete the section. There might be some facts you want to save so write those down first). Next, trim down the plot summaries to the bare basics. Do the same with the Allies section IF you decide to keep that. After, add a Concept and creation section, describing how Azula's character was made. In addition, make sure to obtain some more tertiary sources, since the only source that is not either to the show or Nick's website in this article is the Comic-Con 2005 coverage. I do not mean to be pessimistic, but look at the Aang article. It has gone through three unsuccessful GA nominations and is still not GA. In fact, a nomination is going on now and I am praying that we have enough out-of-universe info to satisfy the reviewers. (By the way, in addition to those instructions, you also might want to cleanup the article. I am not sure what might be wrong since I have not read it entirely, but I'm sure there is something to do.) Hopefully, all of the above will be possible and this article will someday make GA. Again, sorry if I sound disappointing or even rude, I just want to give you the truth about it. I suggest putting it to peer review to find any other problems other than the in-universe info. Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 21:39, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Well I am all for trying, I was not much help with the Aang article, but would like to have this kind of achievement under my belt. It will take a while, but I am certain it can be done. Rau J16 00:04, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Currently, all of the episode links in the references except one point to Avatar: The Last Airbender (Season 1), Avatar: The Last Airbender (Season 2), Avatar: The Last Airbender (Season 3), or List of Avatar: The Last Airbender episodes. In the Aang article they point to avatarspiritmedia.net. Should the references in this article also point there? Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 00:34, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
First off, I want to apologize. I swear that the reply on this page did not show up on my watchlist. Anyway, I must say for Rauj16's sake that he did do a lot of good for Aang, so do not put youself down like that. As for the question: yes. The links should point to avatarspirit.com. If you want, I created special avatar reference templates, simply type {{subst:avatarref-PRODUCTIONCODE}}. There is one bug, though. When the template is inserted, there is an extra line break that takes one more edit to fix the formatting. Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 03:35, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't work, does it need any parameters? Rau J16 20:56, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
What doesn't work? If you are talking about the template, it seems to work fine. I changed all the refs to avatarspirit.com. Does either one of y'all think you could help out in the creation and conception section? I don't really know enough in order to do it. Much appreciated either way. Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 21:14, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps i did not use it right. Oh well, so long as it worked. Thanks Parent(which i admit feels weird seeing as your neither my dad, or either of my moms) Rau J16 21:39, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
LOL, it would take a while to tell you how I got that name. As for the Creation and Conception section, I'm afraid I've searched the web hundreds of times for something on avatar, even if it was remotely related, and found nothing. Just try searching "Azula Avatar" or "Azula Creation" or "Azula character" or even "Azula creation and conception". You'll find something eventually. The main requirement is just a source. Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 22:16, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
(DEDENT) I think it was Fyre who said it, but a source is meaningless if its false. I can write an entire website with fake information, and as long as it sounds real, its a source. But the source is false because the information is false. Oh, and the DVD's probably have some information on this. Rau J16 00:30, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. Hopefully I will be able to find something. Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 04:24, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
What about her age? Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 04:39, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Here. Go to "Season 2" → "The Avatar State" → "Characters" → "Azula". It is in the first sentence. It says she is fourteen. Shame we cant directly source that. But I'll try. Rau J16 18:56, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Does that work? Its not perfect, but it is the best way i could think to do it off of the top of my head. If you have a better way, please change it. Rau J16 19:05, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
I have gotten a lot of the information in the article to a minimum; if you feel I have made any errors, please correct them. But do not forget to source, or I will remove it again. Rau J16 22:30, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
Y'all have been hard at work while I have been gone. I am not very active on weekends, though very active on weekdays. Anyway, things look even better. Good job. Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 18:03, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
It wasnt that hard, only problem is that we primarily use two sources. That will never warrant a good rating. We need to branch out, use multiple sources for one thing. NOT Nick and the episodes. Is Distant Horizon any good? I know its a fansite, but so is AvatarSpirit. Rau's talk 18:21, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

I think it would be good if the three season sections were merged into one since the first two are not large enough to really get their own sections. --Parent5446(Murder me for my actions) 21:00, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes, i agree. Rau's talk 00:35, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Should we merge the History and Plot Overview sections? I think that they can fit under a "Fictional Character Biography" section like comic book characters have. Rau's talk 18:15, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
I put the History section under the Plot overview section. It might need a little cleaning though. Sorry for just now getting to this. I have been busy this past week. Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 16:42, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Musical Theme

I added information on her musical theme, but I'm not sure where it goes so I added it to her personality section; although it could go in "Creation and Conception" now that I think about it. But if someone could help get it further away from copyright infringement, that'd be great. Rau's Speak Page 21:55, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Titles

I think that somewhere there should be information about her titles since it's good information about her. They used to be on the page but were taken down.--Animefan2 (talk) 09:23, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

They were never on the article. There isn't even a parameter for that. Only a "position" one and that is for out of universe positions. Rau's Speak Page 10:27, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Well it was tecnically in the sidebox. I've even seen some articles that has the character sidebox with in-universe and outside-universe information on it.--71.133.126.44 (talk) 05:50, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
If you can find some examples and post them here, then we will consider changing it. I already have some ideas for what it might be like. Parent5446 (t n e l) 12:52, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
