Au contraire, some of the most important Jewish works were written in Arabic, and Islam was derived in part from Judeo-Christian theology. The languages are close cousins, as are the people. Many Palestinians and Israeli Arabs speak Hebrew, and over half of the Jews in Israel originate in Arabic speaking countries. Peace unto you, TewfikTalk 18:43, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
One I was taught from a young age, and being that they are extremely similar, I was able to teach myself the other from a book, as well as practicing it with other bilinguals. I'd also like to study German at some point, as it is somewhat similar to English, and I'd recommend that, or perhaps a Romance Language, if you are looking. These days you can get a basic grasp from a storebought workbook/CD, though classes aren't hard to find either. TewfikTalk 18:55, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Al manar
Look dude, There's no claim of anti-semitism. Al manar is antisemetic and they incite violence. They incite really really horrible violence. This is a serious crime and they do it to their own children daily. This information is important and should be anywhere one sees Hezbollah, Al Manar or Islamic Terrorist Organizations.Labaneh 19:20, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Why wouldn't it be appropriate? It is a sourced fact, similarly the EU does not list Hezbollah "but it does list..." Shamir1 19:59, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Lebanese prisoners
I'm curious why you changed "two" to some; are there more than two? Cheers, TewfikTalk 06:04, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, I was unaware. Do you mean the SC resolution (1701)? Not that my opinion counts for anything, but my hope is that it is enforced, which 1559 wasn't. If not, Hezbollah (and Syria in general) will continue to stifle the Cedar Revolution and stability in the region.
