Don't airbags use sodium azide (NaN3)?
Yes the sodium azide is detonated with a small electrical charge and the airbag fills with nitrogen gas
According to the page about airbags, sodium azide is no longer used as the chemical that sets off the airbag. Should this be changed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.197.31.145 (talk) 20:47, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Structure
I'm not sure if how the structure is shown is right. Look at this example of Sodium azide: http://www.chemblink.com/products/26628-22-8.htm
- Not sure about the sodium form, but the experimentally determined crystal structure of azidothymidine (AZT) has the three nitrogens in a linear arrangement.
