Talk:Aysel Sengün
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I am redirecting this article to the one on Ziad Jarrah. While the name has been reported in the media, and I am therefore not eliminating it entirely, any significance it has can be found there. Considering the prevailing approach toward biographies of living persons, I don't think it is appropriate to have a separate article dedicated to this one aspect of the subject's life. Since it is virtually certain that there will never be verifiable information about any other aspect of her life, the article has no prospect for expansion, and redirecting is a far better solution. --Michael Snow 06:07, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- I strongly dispute that. You're not going to include the fact she has testified at terrorism trials in Jarrah's article surely, or that she went into witness protection. It's much better to keep these six paragraphs in their own article dealing with Sengün, than trying to squeeze the six paragraphs into Jarrah's article. - The trials she testified in should properly be discussed in the articles about the people who were on trial, as in fact they are. The witness protection thing could be mentioned in Jarrah's article, although I seriously question the relevance and editorial judgment of having that in any article. This is a private person who has never sought to be placed in the public eye, and yet you're publishing an article about her that's full of personal information. Given our practices for living people, that's not appropriate. --Michael Snow 17:33, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

- I couldn't agree more. I think it should be deleted right away. Sometimes that is easier said than done here on Wikipedia however. Steve Dufour 18:10, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
