From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi and welcome aboard. Thanks for your work on Stagecoach Group; sorry about my earlier reversion of your update on Operating Companies which I now think was a bit precipitate. -- Chris j wood 13:51, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for organizing the Saudi Arabian Airlines article. -- Eagleamn 18:51, Jun 22, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re:British Airways

I wasn't aiming to be offensive- just direct. A user added perfectly legitimate information to the article, if you didn't like the wording- then rework it to Wikipedia standards rather than simply delete it. Astrotrain 18:59, August 16, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Flyglobespan logo

I've replaced your Flyglobespan logo.jpg with Flyglobespan logo.gif - the JPG version was really suffering from bleed and compression artifacts. Added a "speedy delete" to the JPG version. Wangi 10:01, 22 August 2005 (UTC)

As you're obviously Scottish, I thought I'd let you know that someone has started up a page for Scottish users -

[edit] Re : Bus images

Hi Ayrshire,

I saw your message at DP5480's talkpage. Actually his images make a good collection at the commons, I've left a note on his talkpage about it. I'm not sure whether I should do the transfer for him, but I'll give him some time to reply first.

- Cheers, Mailer Diablo 03:20, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm transferring them to the commons. The photos should be re-organised soon. - Mailer Diablo 03:43, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Which is now complete. Hopefully that should be fine with you. - Mailer Diablo 08:15, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
Ah, I understand what you mean, it's part of policy (WP:NOT). It recently seems though, that orphanated images (such as ones remove from articles) are automatically marked for deletion. So do keep in mind to utilise the Commons the next time you see too many images and too little text. :) - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 13:21, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay but my job has kept me away from Wikipedia for a couple of days. As Diablo suggests, above, images that are not properly sourced are usually caught and deleted after a couple of weeks. If you want to call attention to this, however, I have seen some users adding the tag {{copyvio}} to the image pages. However I don't know for certain if this tag is actually appropriate for images (be prepared to offer evidence that they are copyvios i.e. original URLs. Alternately, you could inquire at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion, maybe on the Talk page there, offering wikilinks to articles and images that you feel are in violation. I hope this helps! 23skidoo 01:34, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rail transport and Transport operator cats

Hi. Thanks for comment. I have replied at my Talk in order to keep together. Sometimes one tires (sp.?) of flitting about umpteen discussion pages! Good work on all the transport articles - absolutely vital work considering all the attention Scottish transport has been getting due to you-know-which article.--Mais oui! 09:16, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Logonair / BA franchisees

Hiya there, have posted a message on the BA franchisees thing but would be much more pointful if I just asked you here. The list of Logonair destinations has numerous Scottish islands not listed in the franchisee list but still operated in BA colours and with BA flightcodes. As you say this comes from the BA magazine does that mean they don't mention the, err, more minor destinations in there? Or have you cut them out? If so, just wondered why. Keep up the good work. [edit] imagevio

Hi there, I noticed you added an {{imagevio}} to one of PW Academy's many unsourced photos - problem is you didn't add this - manually - to Wikipedia:Copyright problems. This needs to be added for anything to be done, i've added it now. Thanks/wangi 09:44, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

I don't suppose Image:1022610.jpg looks familiar? PW Academy is saying they took it themself, normally I'd assume good faith and beleive them... But with a spew of cut'n'paste images and a copyvio, well... /wangi 09:53, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for finding that - I didn't have time earlier today ;) Damn, they didn't even bother to rename the file! /wangi 13:02, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Loganair.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Loganair.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:40, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Dba Boeing 737.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Dba Boeing 737.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Polly (Parrot) 23:10, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
